Pirates of Penzance
Outdoor theatre for the family!
This year, we have something new and exciting coming to our High Field. Let the story begin…
Frederick was accidentally apprenticed to pirates as a child until his 21st birthday. On that birthday, he believed he would be free to leave the ship and dedicate his life to the destruction of piracy. However, the pirate king soon realised that Frederick's birthday falls on February 29, a leap year…Frederick begins to question his fate: will he be forced to work on the king’s ship until he is 84? And will his sweetheart wait for him? Join the Illyria production for an evening filled with glittering wit and glorious music, performed by a talented cast of six actors and singers, accompanied by a full orchestra!
Please bring your own low-back seating and picnic blankets and get comfy in this unique outdoor performance.
⌚’Doors’ open at 2.30pm, performance starts at 3pm lasting approx. 120 minutes with a 20-minute interval.
🎫Tickets: Adult £18, Child £10
The production is suitable for all ages and is based on the celebrated nineteenth century Gilbert & Sullivan comic opera.
