Get into the festive spirit at Itchen Valley Country Park this Christmas, with a selection of seasonal crafts, workshops and the Festive Lanterns and Songs event!
Kids and their families can enjoy a yuletide trail around the Country Park from 28 November, with ten wooden Christmas trees decorated with traditional decorations. Keep your eyes peeled for a tiny mouse called Crumbs hiding on each tree. Every child taking part will receive a wooden disc to cut out and turn into a festive tree decoration.
Next up comes two workshops for both teens and adults, where you can try your hand at traditional willow weaving (Friday 20 December), creating a beautiful rustic wreath featuring a star, or produce a reindeer table decoration (Sunday 6 December) - bring them home to celebrate over the holidays!
Get creative in The Hide with your children with a choice of festive crafts Tuesday 22 December. They can create their very own Christmas angel or reindeer decoration to adorn your family tree.
The festivities continue with our annual Festive Lanterns and Songs evening Sunday 20 December with the Christmas lantern parade, entertainment from the Mountbatten Choir followed by Otterbourne Brass to joining everyone for a fun singalong. You can book onto the lantern-making workshop, or bring your own for the parade. Local charities will also be raising funds, while the Woodland Café will be serving mulled wine, hot drinks and festive snacks.
