This event is part of Southampton Orienteering Club’s Saturday Series - perfect for those new to orienteering, as well as families looking for a fun activity to do together!

Orange - medium (3.0km)

Light green - hard (as difficult as the area allows) (4.5km)

Location, travel and parking

From the park entrance follow the ‘O’ signs. Parking charges apply - up to 1 hour £2.20, up to 2 hours £3.50, up to 3 hours £4.40, full day £5.20.

The event centre is a short walk from the top car park (furthest from the entrance). Look out for the SOC banner

Map and Terrain

1:5,000 map on A4 waterproof paper, 5m contours.
Country park with main paths and tracks, some areas of minor woodland.

Clothing and equipment

In adverse weather, we may ask you to wear a cagoule or similar waterproof top.
Sensible footwear advised.

Orienteering is a physically challenging sport.

A comprehensive risk assessment has been carried out by the organiser and will be available to read at the event. Participants take part at their own risk and are responsible for their own safety during the event.

This is a very popular public park - please be mindful of other park users, including horse riders and alpaca walkers.

Results

The results will be posted on the SOC website as soon as possible after the event.

Event cancellation

If the event has to be cancelled for reasons beyond our control, SOC reserve the right to retain all or some of your entry fee to cover committed costs.
