Volunteering at Itchen Valley

The Country Park is proud to be part of Eastleigh Borough Council’s volunteer scheme

The Council’s Health & Wellbeing team have created a one-stop shop for residents in the Borough to connect, learn and make a difference.

There are plenty of volunteering opportunities managed by Council teams, making it easier to find and take part in regular, flexible and adhoc activities.

Join the Country Parks fun and welcoming team - you can get gloriously muddy and hands on, make a real difference for wildlife and help visitors have the best event experience, we’ve got onsite opportunities to get stuck in with this like-minded community.

Our current roles are for those over 18 years of age and no prior experience is needed.

Become a Country Parks Conservation volunteer

Complete conservation tasks in a welcoming community so you can meet new people and to create habitats for both wildlife and an outdoor adventures for visitors to the Country Park!

Tasks include bulb planting, bird box building and playground maintenance to coppicing, creating hedgerows and pond maintenance and ditch digging.

Sessions take place at Itchen Valley Country Park on selected weekdays based on staff and seasonal need.

Parking passes and refreshments will be provided.

Become a Country Parks Event volunteer

Could you be a friendly and welcoming face for families going on an adventure in the park or steward audiences coming to our outdoor shows? Be behind the scenes to have fun with visitors and enhance the event experience.

No experience needed, days and times will vary, you just need to be willing to be outside, whatever the weather.

Parking passes and refreshments provided where appropriate.
