Little Explorers - The Benefits of outdoor play for children
Little Explorers Logo
Exciting news is coming to the woods this October!
We invite all Little Explorers to join us every first Tuesday of the month for an hour of adventure, creativity and fun in nature. The sessions are themed to incorporate seasonal activities and celebrations, starting with magical creatures and birds will be the focus for November.
Each session will include four key elements designed to enhance children’s development. We'll start with a walk to spark enthusiasm and introduce the theme of the session, followed by a craft to foster creativity and sensory play to ignite imagination. We will finish with a story or a game.
Outdoor play promotes communication and teamwork, therefore developing social skills. The activities will improve motor skills and physical fitness in addition to building self-confidence.
In addition, spending time outside nurtures curiosity, appreciation for nature and understanding of the environment. It can help to boost happiness, improve the immune system and offer an outlet for energy, which improves focus and mood.
Whatever the weather, rain or shine, we will aim to carry on and will adapt the sessions accordingly.
Weatherproof clothing is essential!
